David Jerry Gamble
 David Jerry Gamble, 74, of 2086 Fallston Road, Shelby, went to be with his
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 25, 2011 at his residence.

Born August 15, 1936 in Cleveland County,  he was a son of late U. William
"Pete" Gamble and Mable Turner Gamble.  He was a self-employed paint
contractor and a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church.  He enjoyed
gardening and gospel and country music.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David Ray
Gamble; a daughter, Susan Kay Gamble; a brother, Joel Gamble and a sister,
Jane Gamble.

Survivors: include his wife of 56 years, Shirley Jean Peeler Gamble; a
daughter, Judy Gamble Cook and husband, Ken of Lawndale; three
grandchildren, Jennifer Flowers and husband, Christopher of Shelby; Gabreal
Cook of Forest City and Roman Cook of Lawndale; three great-grandchildren,
Tucker Bell, Jackson Bell and Zeely Bell; and a brother, Claude Gamble of
Shelby.

Visitation: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday,  Northside Baptist Church, Shelby.  The
body will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.

Officiating: Rev. Neal Efird

Interment: Sunset Cemetery, Shelby
