Evelyn Hamrick Norville, age 91, of Emory Avenue, Forest City, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Born June 9, 1926 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Fadie Cicero Hamrick and Lalah Elizabeth Plemmons Hamrick. She worked in textiles for many years and was a faithful and active member of Caroleen Baptist Church. Evelyn's love for children and for the elderly led her to teach Sunday School, work in vacation bible school and visit shut-ins. She enjoyed doing craftwork and sharing her hobby with the community.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-two years, Otho T. Norville; son-in-law, Ron Padgett; grandson, David Brian Padgett; three sisters, Joyce Hamrick, Jessie Hutchins, Elaine Hamrick and an infant brother, Lloyd Hamrick.

Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Freda Padgett of Mooresboro; sister, Doris Jackson of Shelby; two grandchildren, Kevin Padgett and Amy Padgett both of Mooresboro and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Caroleen Baptist Church with Reverend Allen Hall and Reverend Lanny J. Funchess officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
