Henry Gene Beaver
 Mr. Henry Gene Beaver, age 82 of Shelby, NC, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.  

   He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen DeLozier Beaver of the home, four sons, Billy Morehead and friend Pat Meily of Lewistown, PA, Eddie Morehead and wife Barbara of Bennettsville, SC, Ricky Beaver and wife Karen of Shelby, NC, and Michael Beaver and wife Cindy of Waynesville, NC, twelve grandchildren, Angie Conner and husband Cliff of McClure, PA, Carmen Wilson of Erie, PA, Kristen Alexander and husband Josh of Lewistown, PA, Allyson Smith and husband Travis of Forest City, NC, Katie Mullinix and husband Josh of Indian Land, SC, Justin Morehead and wife Canaan of Gastonia, NC, Jay Morehead and wife Bekgah of Raleigh, NC, Mandy Beaver Schmitt and husband Craig of Charlotte, NC, Jodi Thompson and husband Mike of Gaffney, SC, Michael Andrew Beaver of Shelby, NC, Corey Beaver of Waynesville, NC, and Kiley Beaver of Waynesville, NC, thirteen great grandchildren, a sister, Maudie Honeycutt of Burlington, NC, a special friend, Pat Whitley of Shelby, NC and several nieces and nephews.

   Born May 19, 1932 in Shelby, NC, Mr. Beaver was the son of the late Zerry Dixon and Arbagi (Jones) Beaver and was preceded in death by a brother, C.D. Beaver, and a sister, Frances Beaver Cline and a good friend, Ken Whitley.  Mr. Beaver graduated from Lattimore High School.  After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps at Cherry Point Airfield before fighting in the Korean War, and earned the rank of Sgt. After an honorable discharge, Gene worked for more than 22 years for J.P. Stevens as a supervisor.  He later worked and retired from Kemet Electronics.  Gene was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where he went on outings with the Pleasanteers.  He enjoyed cutting grass, practical jokes, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. 

   A special thank you to all who have aided and supported his family and to the staff at the Dialysis Clinic in Boiling Springs, NC, and all the other doctors and nurses who have cared for him during his illness.

   Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 198 Pleasant Ridge Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152.
