Jeremy Paul Sperling

Jeremy Paul Sperling, age 43, died Friday July 4, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Born in Grand Forks ND on August 11, 1970, he was the son of James Edwin Sperling and Mary Virginia Hamrick and step-father, Mike Hamrick. Jeremy was a member of Christopher Road Baptist Church. Jeremy was an all-around happy person and was always smiling. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He was a Nascar and Dallas Cowboy Fan. Jeremy also enjoyed camping and drawing. Jeremy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Virginia Hamrick, and Edwin Sperling; a sister, Machon Hamrick; a niece, Alexis Hooper; stepmother, Jean Sperling; and step brother, Kevin Ball.

Jeremy is survived by four sons, Christopher Sperling of Shelby and stationed at Fort Riley Kansas, Dylan Sperling, Matthew Sperling, and Waylon Sperling all of Shelby; a daughter, Ava Sperling of Shelby;  grandparents, Thomas Hamrick of Boiling Springs and Margaret Sperling of Hickory; three sisters, Michelle Mason and husband Mike of Dallas, Brandilyn Simmons of Fort Mill SC, and Micah Holiday and husband Brandon of Boiling Springs; two brothers, Brad Sperling of Raleigh and Thomas Sperling and wife Sandi of Boiling Springs; two step brothers, Jeff Hamrick of Shelby and Jeff Ball of Monks Corner SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday July 11, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the Broad River Greenway picnic shelter in Boiling Springs. The family will receive friends on Thursday July 10, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p .m.  at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at 1939 Gaffney Road, Shelby.

Memorials can be made to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150 or Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory to help defray funeral cost.
