The retirees fished Lake Wylie 2 weeks ago and as I predicted John Black and Roger McNeely took ‘Pinky’ and picked up the win with 6.3. J R Garland and Rick Maiers had 4.4 to claim second and third went to Mack Wyatt, fishing solo, with 4.3. Big fish was a 4.3 largemouth brought in by Wyatt.

        Flu shots will be given October 17 at Double Springs Baptist Church Family Life Center from 4:30-7:00pm. The shots are free of charge for those with Blue Cross and Blue Shield or with Medicare Part B. For all others, the cost is $31. The church is located at 1130 Double Springs Church Road, off Washburn Switch Road. The event is sponsored by the church’s health care team.
