Sarah Dolan Weatherman, age 80, of Ellenboro, NC, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Hospice House of Rutherford County.

The retirees fished Lake Wylie 2 weeks ago and as I predicted John Black and Roger McNeely took ‘Pinky’ and picked up the win with 6.3. J R Garland and Rick Maiers had 4.4 to claim second and third went to Mack Wyatt, fishing solo, with 4.3. Big fish was a 4.3 largemouth brought in by Wyatt.

Double Springs Baptist Church, Shelby
Flu shots will be given October 17 at Double Springs Baptist Church Family Life Center from 4:30-7:00pm. The shots are free of charge for those with Blue Cross and Blue Shield or with Medicare Part B. For all others, the cost is $31. The church is located at 1130 Double Springs Church Road, off Washburn Switch Road. The event is sponsored by the church’s health care team.

You are invited to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Council on Aging/Neal Senior Center on Tuesday, November 19, 2013.
Lunch will be served at 12:00 Noon and will include turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, sweet potato soufflé, bread, dessert and beverage. The cost is $7.50 per person.
The Cherry Point Baptist Chuch Mission Team spent several days recently at the Neal Senior Center providing manicures for senior ladies.
The Council on Aging/Neal Senior Center will be honoring senior veterans (age 55 and better) and their families on Thursday, November 7, 2013 doors will open at 11:00 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.

Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker were in Cleveland County on Friday, October 4th to announce that Greenheck Fan Corporation, a leading manufacturer of air movement and control equipment, will expand its operations and locate a new facility in Cleveland County.
