3rd Annual Phyllis Elmore Special Livestock Show
North Shelby student, Hannah Conley was thrilled to participate in the 3rd annual Phyllis Elmore Special Livestock show and loved her goat.
The third annual Phyllis Elmore Special Livestock Show took place on October 2, 2014. This year’s event was held in the new Burns High School barn. The show is designed to include North Shelby students in the experience of showing livestock. Phyllis Elmore began this show many years ago, when she was a Burns High School Health Sciences teacher. In 2012, Mrs. Elmore passed away from cancer, but prior to her passing, she expressed her desire for the program with North Shelby students to continue each year.  With the support of her husband, Andy, Burns High School, and Mr. Reithoffer of the Reithoffer Shows at the Cleveland County Fair, each student parades a goat around the barn, receives a metal for participating in the event, and  a stuffed toy. Each North Shelby student is a winner and their smiles were once again, the reward.
