Aaliyah Nicole Jefferies
Aaliyah Nicole Jefferies, age 20 of Old Post Rd. passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017. She was born September 12, 1997 in Gaston County to Kellie Louise Hull and Walden Christopher Link. Aaliyah was a 2017 graduate of Cherryville High School. She loved reading and playing video games. Aaliyah played basketball and softball. She also enjoyed kickboxing and UFC.
Aaliyah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jerry Jefferies, Robert and Frances Carroll, Ralph and Maude Scism, and Andrew "Pops" and Geneva Link; and uncle, Justin Jefferies.
Survivors include her mother and step father, Kellie Hull and Stevilen Cathcart; father, Walden Link; brothers and sister, Robert Jefferies, Syncere Cathcart, Jibri Starr, Amir Starr, Kadin Starr, and Sydnee Cathcart; thirteen half siblings; grandparents, Betsy Jefferies, David and Karen Thompson, Nana Betty Cathcart, and Steven Cathcart; aunt, Ashley Jefferies and Elizabeth; uncles, Bryan Carroll and Sheila and Quinton Link; cousins, Hunter, Noah, and Anna Huffman; three nieces; and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Travis Mull officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In accordance with her wishes, she was able to extend life to others through the gift of multiple organs donation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lifeshare of the Carolinas, 5000 D Airport Center Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28208 or Oak Grove Baptist Church, 402 Tot Dellinger Rd. Cherryville, NC 28021.
