Alice Vickers, age 93, of Bostic, NC, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Oak Grove Health Care.
Born March 22, 1924 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Charlie Baxter Vickers and Eva Champion Vickers. Alice was a member of Henrietta First Baptist Church and enjoyed attending the Senior Adult activities. She genuinely loved each of her family members and showed kindness to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Emory and Mary Tessneer and a brother, C.B. Vickers.
Those left to cherish her memory include sister, Ruth Bradley and husband, George and a brother, Joe Vickers all of Henrietta. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hebron Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Oak Grove Health Care for their exceptional care of Alice. They were just like family to her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are respectively requested to the Oak Grove Activities Fund, 518 Old Highway 221, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
