This appreciation plaque to The Kings Mountain Herald's Editor Lib Stewart was presented at the 2016 American Legion World Series.

The Kings Mountain Herald's Lib Stewart was honored by the American Legion World Series committee Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the opening of the 90th American Legion World Series in Shelby with an award "for outstanding service.''
The handsome plaque, with a 90th anniversary baseball inside, was presented at Veterans Field at Keeter Stadium in Shelby after National Auxiliary President Sharon Conaster of Illinois threw out the first pitch.
Stewart was National President of the American Legion Auxiliary in 1999-2000 and has long been active locally and on state and national levels.
