Andrea "Penny" Crawford, age 58, of Kings Mountain, went home to be with her Lord On July 8, 2016. Born in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Bobby Clinton Beatty. She was employed with Wix Inc, in Gastonia, NC for 25 years and was an active member of Family Worship Center for 20 years.

Unconditionally loved mother and wife, sister and daughter, as well as a dedicated and loyal friend. Penny was someone who seldom acted on personal gain but rather out of love for others. She fought an incredible battle with a disease that had no cure, not once but three times. Starting her first battle in 2005, average survival being 5 years, it took this terrible disease 11 years before her body finally surrendered. With strong will and determination, and more fight in her than most armies, she was undeniably hard to slow down.

For anyone who knew Penny, knew this. She had a fire that lived in her belly and a sassiness to her that left an endearing stamp on your heart (unless you messed with her girls - in that case, Lord have mercy on your soul). The epitome of a Mother Hen and Mama Bear, there were never any questions about how very much she loved her girls and grandchildren; or how deeply in love she was with her husband. They were her whole heart and she was and still is theirs. The Lord broke the mold on this sweet and beautiful lady and she will be terribly missed. Heaven is surely sweeter today with her in it.
