Andrew "Scooby" Ussery, Jr.

Mr. Andrew "Scooby" Ussery, Jr. 56, of 313 Holmes St. Shelby, NC departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at his residence. Born March 7, 1958 in Cleveland County, NC, he was a loving son of Ellwease Bradshaw Ussery and the late Andrew Ussery, Sr.

As a High School graduate of Burns High School in 1977, Andrew began his employment at Cleveland Mills in Lawndale NC and was employed 17 years until their closing. He was then employed at Copeland Inc. until their closing. He was currently employed at Baldor Electric Company in Shelby NC until our Heavenly Father called him home. Andrew was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby.

Life for Andrew "Scooby" was enjoying spending time with family and friends as well as detailing older model cars, trucks, grooming his yard and working in his garden and flower beds. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed being with children whom he loved unconditionally.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lee Ussery Sweezy and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Bell Camp.

Andrew leaves to cherish fond memories his wife of 35 years, Sandra Camp Ussery; his mother, Ellawease Bradshaw Ussery of Shelby, five sons, Andrico and Shamus Thompson and Demorrio Camp all of Charlotte, NC, Chase Ussery of Shelby and Andrew "Rudy" Ussery, III of the home; five sisters: Liz Surratt (Edward) and Betty J. Ussery both of Shelby, Faye J. Brooks (James) of Kings Mountain NC and Lillie A. Ussery and Alfreada R. Ussery both of Shelby; his father-in-law, Donald Campy (Nanette) of Shelby; sisters-in-law, Linda Alexander, Donnis Woods (John), Audrey Burris, and Abby Brooks all of Shelby NC; brother-in-laws: Eddie Camp (Beverly) and David Camp both of Shelby NC; 12 grandchildren; two special uncles, James "Big Jim" Bradshaw (Louise) of Shelby and Robert Bradshaw of Lawndale, NC and a host of special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Lawndale, NC; two close friends, OJ Hicks, and Fabian Woods and a host of special nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor M. Lamont Littlejohn officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church on Monday and additionally at his home and the home of his mother, 408 Antrum St. in Shelby.
