Anita "Lynne" Hood, age 60 of E. Academy St. passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at her residence. She was born February 22, 1958 in Cleveland County to the late Ray Andrew and Shirley Carpenter Hood. Lynne was a member of First Baptist Church and active with her Sunday School class. She was employed with Gaston County Schools and also worked part-time with the Youth Alliance. She loved spending time with her family and being involved in activities with her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Shelly Hood.
Survivors include her brother, Michael Ray Hood and wife, Susan; sister, Susan Hood Lingerfelt and husband, Barry; nieces and nephews, Sege Hood and wife, Cassie, Kyndall Hood King and husband, Derek, Preston Lingerfelt, Lindsey Lingerfelt, Payton, Paxon, Piper, Carter, Cooper, and Kallie; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the church and other times at Michael and Susan Hood's, 105 Oakley Lane.
