Anne Miller Warlick

Anne Miller Warlick

Anne Miller Warlick, age 88, of Cherryville passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Mrs. Warlick was born November 24, 1929 in Salisbury, North Carolina, the youngest daughter of the late Ivey Ijames Miller and Joseph Franklin Miller. As a child, she was an accomplished dancer. She graduated with honors from Boyden High School in 1947 and attended Lenoir-Rhyne College, where she found her one true love, Norman Gene Warlick.
Anne married Norman in 1950 and lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico for her husband's service during the Korean War. The two moved to Cherryville in 1951, where they raised four boys, David Franklin Warlick (with Brenda Finley Warlick of Raleigh & Cherryville), Donald Emory Warlick (with Kathy McBride Warlick of Concord), Richard Dennis (Dickie) Warlick (Kim Massengill Warlick of Four Oaks) and Dennis Clifton Warlick (of New York City) and enjoyed seven grandchildren.
Together Anne and Norman were founding members of the Cherryville Little Theater, with which Anne played many memorable roles. They were both members of the Cherryville Rotary Club and Paul Harris Fellows. Mrs. Warlick was also a champion golfer and, with her husband, traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Holy Land. They were active and enthusiastic members of the First Presbyterian Church of Cherryville and were very active in the Pilgrimage ministry where she made many new Christian friends and spread her joy throughout the state. Anne brightened the days of hundreds of readers each morning with her observations on Facebook.
She follows her husband, her parents, her sister, Janet Miller Carpenter, her brother, Robert Luther Miller, and a grandson, Nicholas Warlick into paradise.
Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Cherryville on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 4:00 PM, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home is serving the Warlick family.
