The third weekend in June brings the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA) sanctioned event, Rodeo Polkville, to Cleveland County. Polkville Baptist Church will present their 14th annual rodeo in Mintz Arena located directly behind the church at 4214 Polkville Road. This event is sponsored in part by Shelby Shopper & Info. It brings eight rodeo action packed events and even three fan events.

The Kosa retirees fished Lake Norman last week, David O’Shields grabbed the win with 10.25 and he anchored that with the big bass of the day, a 4.90 largemouth. JR Garland and Rick Maiers had 9.90 and took second. Finishing third with 7.80 was John Black and Roger McNeely. This week, the retirees will fish Lake Wylie.

   Last weekend, June 7th through 9th, Elliott Farms hosted the Regions Archery BowHunters Pro/Am Tour. The new tour will feature three events on their 2013 schedule and will ultimately consist of six regions. The intent is to bring main stream archery manufacturers and shooters into the sport of 3D Archery around the nation by making the tournaments more accessible.
