The annual Sugar Hill Easter Egg Fight was held this past Easter Sunday, April 20. Approximately 250 folks from surrounding counties began arriving at dawn with colored eggs by the case, crate and basket load.
The Shelby VFW Post 4066 Bill Lynn Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Shelby City Park.

Burns High School Benefit Event
The Burns High a School Marching band will be holding benefit bass tournament on Lake Hickory, May 10. Tournament hours are Safelight til 3pm and it will blast off and weigh-in at Whittenburg Access.
