Arnold Lail, 94, of Shelby passed away Saturday May 13, 2017 at Peak
Resources in Cherryville.

Born February 14, 1923 in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Peter
Alonzo Lail and Fannie Lottie Cook Lail. He was a retired truck driver for
Carolina Freight and was a member of Hoyle Memorial United Methodist Church.
He also served in the US Navy during World War II in the European Theater.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee
Lail, Dewey Lail and Walter Lail and four sisters, Effie Lindsay, Muriel
Cabiness, Texie Wright and Flavie Hudson.

Survivors include his wife of sixty nine years, Betty Jean Dixon Lail; three
sons and daughters-in-law, Ed & Linda Lail of Shelby, Joe & Alice Lail of
Shelby and Tom & Tina Lail of Longwood, FL; six grandchildren, Lisa
Donaldson (Jeremiah), Whitney Worsham (Josh), Adrienne Fletcher (Thomas),
Benjamin Lail (Ashley), Jennifer Lail and Jason Lail (Caitlin) and four
great grandchildren, Parker Donaldson, Willow Worsham, Colton Fletcher and
Dixon Fletcher.

The visitation will be 2:00PM until 3:30PM Tuesday at Stamey-Tysinger
Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be 3:30PM Tuesday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Black officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donors choice.
