Arthur Rhodes, Sr. Arthur Rhodes, Sr., age 71, of Forest City, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. Born July 27, 1946 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Dewy James Rhodes and Lallage McEntire Rhodes. He worked for Reeves Brothers/Trelleborg Inc. for many years and for J.C. Cowan Industries. He was a member of Danieltown Baptist Church and enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid NASCAR fan. Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Joyce Ballard Rhodes; daughter, Rebecca Rhodes Millette and husband, Brian of Forest City; son, Arthur Lawrence Rhodes, Jr. and fiancé, Lynn Wright of Cliffside; brother, Kenneth Rhodes of Kent, Ohio; sister-in-law, Shirley Silver of Mooresboro. He is also survived by a grandson, Jamie Davis and fiancé, Hailey Dimsdale of Forest City. The funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Grace Missionary Methodist Church with Reverend Danny Bumgarner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. At other times they will be gathered at 1619 Doggett Road, Forest City.
