Mr. Arvel Alexander Wright, age 82 of Shelby, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.
He is survived by his brother, James L. Wright of Shelby, NC, a special niece, Linda Greene and husband Larry and family of Kings Mountain, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews. Born January 9, 1936 in Cleveland County, Mr. Wright was the son of the late Lyhugh Pinkney Wright and Ollie Eva Raines Wright and was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Wright, and a sister, Lorene Glenn, and numerous step-brothers and step-sisters.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Arvel's family at Golden Years Rest Home for the time they spent with him. The family would also like to extend a sincere thanks to the staff at Wendover Hospice House for the loving care they gave Mr. Wright during his stay.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Tony Sisk. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
