SHELBY - Augustus Hoyle Causby, age 88, passed away August 25, 2018 at CHS Cleveland.
He was born November 28, 1929, in Rutherford County; he was the son of the late Joe Hoyle Causby and Lola Lail Causby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Barbara Weatherford, Kenneth Hoyle Causby; and two sisters, Genell Newton Dodson and Katie Collins.
Augustus was a member of Walls Baptist Church and the owner/operator of Causby Used Cars and Rollback Service.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 71 years, Joyce Marie Dodson Causby; three children, Diane Williams, Jerry Dean Causby and wife Virginia, Michael Wayne Causby and wife Anita. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Walls Baptist Church in Bostic with Reverend David Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services and other times at the home of Michael and Anita Causby, 420 W. Main St., Mooresboro, NC 28114.
