Bennie Ray Curtis
Served in the U.S. Army

Bennie Ray Curtis, age 70 passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland.

Born in Nashville, TN he was the son of the late Bennie Lee Curtis and Dorothy Ray Bridges Curtis. Bennie served in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict and worked as a truck driver for Kamm Industries. Bennie enjoyed fishing especially at Whitmar's and spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Cynthia Jean Walker.

Bennie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Martin Curtis, one daughter Alicia Black and husband David and one son Tyler Curtis, two sisters Pat Crego and husband Ron of Cowpens, SC and Eilene Emory and husband Rick of Kings Mountain as well as eight grandchildren, Karissa, Megan, Pamela, Farrah, Aubrey, Rylan, Taliyah an Marlee and four great grandchildren, Rylee, Braxton, Gianni and Naomi.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, January 15, 2021 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Daryl Eagle and Rev. Barry Goodman officiating. Burial will follow the service in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
