Ms. Betty Diane Martin, age 61, passed away peacefully at Peak Resources in Gastonia, NC and entered her Heavenly home on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Betty was born on June 7, 1953 to the late Clarence Wilbur and Ivy Bennett Petty. She is also predeceased by her husband, Jerry Douglas Martin; a son, Shane Morrison; a sister, Sherry Lynn Kelly and a niece, Lisa Lynn Yancey.
She is survived by one sister Kathy Elmore of Shelby; a number of nieces and nephews. Betty loved to listen to country music and enjoyed playing board and card games.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
