Gaffney -- Betty Hughey Sanders, 74, formerly of 706 Railroad Avenue, passed away Wednesday, May 9th, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Albert Jones Hughey and Edna David Hughey. She retired from Peeler Rug and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Sanders are a son, Barry Wayne Hughey; a special and loving former daughter-in-law, Kim McCullough Sanders; a sister, Helen McCluney; two nieces that were like sisters, Deborah McCluney and Sheila Wood; a special friend, Dorothy Morgan; and a lot of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sybil Hughey, and two brothers, Carl Edwin Hughey and Charles Wayne Hughey.

A private service will be held at a later date.

The family will be at their respective homes.
