Betty Sellers Black
Cherryville - Mrs. Betty Sellers Black, 86, died on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Lincoln Rehabilitation Center in Lincolnton.
Betty was born on June 25, 1931 in Gaston County, NC a daughter of the late Buford T. Sellers, Sr. and Virginia Brackett Sellers. She worked for Gaston County Schools and was affectionately known at Cherryville High School as the cafeteria lady. Betty was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and the Young at Heart group.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Junius T. "Cedo" Black; a son, Jerry Dale Black and two brothers, Buford Sellers, Jr. and Allen Sellers.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda B. Sellers and Don of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Stacey B. Glover, Michael D. Black; five great grandchildren, Brandon B. Glover, Trent Black, Tripp Black, Isabella Black and Mallory Black; two sisters-in-law, Rosie Mae Sellers of Cherryville and Elizabeth "Lib" Sellers of Kings Mountain; niece, Mary Jane Sellers and other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Hendricks officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends in the Family Life Center following the service.
