Billie Bolick Watson, age 83, died Tuesday May 17, 2016 at Peak Resources in Shelby. Born in Catawba County on February 27, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Arlene Bolick. Billie graduated from St. Stevens High School, in Hickory, in 1951 as class Valedictorian. She worked as bookkeeper for several local businesses, including WOHS and Treasurer and bookkeeper for ten (10) years at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where she was a member for 60 years, many of those singing in the choir. In addition to her parents, Billie is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jean "Jeannie" Adams Childers.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her loving husband of almost 62 years of marriage, Harold Watson; two daughters, Susan Watson White and husband Bryon of Kings Mountain and Linda Watson of Shelby; a grandson, Steven Holland and wife Heather of Rutherford County; a great granddaughter, Isabella "Bella" Holland; a great grandson, Wyatt James Reed Holland; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Watson Polk of Raleigh; two brothers-in-law, Bill Watson and wife Elaine of Madison, N. J. and Tom Watson of Springfield, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Sylvia Wilhelm officiating. Private burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the sanctuary.
