Billy Goins, age 76, of Dallas, died Monday, July 7, 2014 at his residence. He was born on February 7, 1938 in Gaston County a son of the late Ralph J. Goins, Sr. and Florence Wright Goins. Billy was a retired self-employed landscaper and was a charter member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by and a sister Linda Cloninger.
Survivors include a son, Robert Goins of Gastonia; two daughters, Sandy Michaels of Dallas, and Rebecca Rollins and Husband Larry of Dallas; granddaughter, Casey Rollins; brother, Ralph Goins, Jr.; and sisters, Aquilla Lay and husband, Jimmy, and Louise Lankford.
The family would like to say a special thank you to caregiver, Terry McCaslin and Hospice staff, Myra Clark, Joy Barrett, Kelli Honeycutt and Maria Smith for the care they gave Mr. Goins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral and Cremation Services with Minister Larry Rollins officiating. Burial will follow in Hulls Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 PM at the Funeral Home prior to the service.
