GAFFNEY, S.C. - Billy Joe Beaver, 78, of Sarratt Creek Road, Gaffney, South Carolina, died on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of Cherokee County, South Carolina, he was born on December 10, 1936, a son of the late Benny Beaver and Oma Sisk Beaver. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Camps Creek Baptist Church. He loved all types of sports, motorcycles, anything outdoors and was an avid reader.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Beaver and James Beaver; one sister, Eva Ivey. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois Walker Beaver; two sons, Teddy Beaver and wife Avonne of Charleston and Terry Beaver of Gaffney; one sister-in-law, Betty Walker Dotson of Shelby; his grandchildren, Jennifer Price and husband Randall, Chad Beaver and wife Francis, Teresa Johnson and husband Ben, and Cole Beaver; his great grandchildren, Tiffany Price, Taylor Price, Justin Beaver, Aspen Beaver, Olivia Price, Gabriel Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Camps Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Morehead officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the U.S. Air Force. Visitation will be held from 7:00pm-9:00pm on Monday, July 27, 2015 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
