| Billy Wayne Harris, age 71, of Rutherfordton, died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum, SC.
Born December 18, 1942, he was a son of the late Mildred Harris Baynes. Billy worked for Milliken Industries for over 20 years before his retirement and was a member of Morningstar Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and anything to do with the outdoors.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma “Penny” Geraldine Harris and several siblings.
He is survived by one son, Shannon Harris and a daughter, Paula Harris both of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Keisha Harris; one sister, Wilda Shultz of Rutherfordton and brother, Clayton Henderson of Rock Hill, SC.
Funeral will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Morningstar Baptist Church with Reverend Gene Wilson and Reverend Billy Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
