Blaine Ray Moses

HICKORY-- Blaine Ray Moses, 90 of Hickory went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard.

Blaine was born March 5, 1926 in Cleveland County to the late Cain Hub and Ada Towery Moses.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Ruby Hudson Moses; his daughter Rachel Moses Macy; a granddaughter Kimberly Dawn Kanupp; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

He retired from Hickory Tavern Furniture, he enjoyed gospel music singing, and preaching. Hobbies included fishing and hunting. He was a longtime member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church.

He was a #1 dad to his family; he is survived by a son James Rayford Moses and wife Shirley of Hickory; a daughter Judy Moses Kanupp and husband Claude of Hildebran; his grandchildren Sandy M. Anderson and husband Tracy of Millers Creek, Johnny Moses and wife Katy of Hickory, Lori M. Watters and husband Mark of Conover, McGarrett McManus of Morganton, and Michael Meyer of Kannapolis; 8 great grandchildren Dana and Dylan Anderson, Jordan, Jena, and Sarah Moses, Shebra Hughes, Kaleb and Zachary Watters and two step great grandchildren, Christian and Evie Cobb; and 2 great great grandchildren Kaylee Hughes of Nashville and Jason Sprinkle of North Wilkesboro.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 12:30pm to 1:45pm at Hickory Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lee Little officiating.

Burial will follow at Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Moses, Robert Lail, Fred Hudson, Norris Moses, Johnny Moses, and Michael Meyer with Zachary Watters and Kaleb Watters as Honorary pallbearers.
