Bobby "Bones" Dean McAlister, age 70 died Sunday, April 23, 2017 at his home. Born in Cleveland County on November 30, 1946 he was the son of the late Charles D. and Annie Mae McNeeley McAlister. Bobby was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Bobby retired from AMP, where he worked in the maintenance department. When he had free time, Bobby enjoyed going fishing. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by five brothers, Charles McAlister Jr., George McAlister, Bill McAlister, Paul McAlister, and Ray McAlister; and a sister, Lucille Powell.

Bobby is survived by a son, Brian McAlister and wife Donna of Port Lucia, Florida; two brothers, Tom McAlister and John McAlister and wife Gloria; two sisters, Betty Davis and Ruby Harper all of Shelby; sisters-in-law, Esperanza McAlister of Shelby and Juanita McAlister of Columbia SC.; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to give a very special "Thanks" to Bobby's caregivers, Elizabeth Farish and Kathy Blair.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
