Bobby Eugene Rathbone, age 73, resident of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare System, Charlotte, NC. Born in Cleveland County to the late Dewey Venson Rathbone and Carol Dona Dorsey Rathbone. He was also preceded in death by brother Steve Rathbone, sisters Juanita R. Sims and Geraldine R. Hollifield, and sister in law, Loretta Rathbone and brother in law Jerry Adams. Bobby Rathbone was a member of First Wesleyan Church, Kings Mountain, where he found a home in the men's Sunday school class. He adored his pastor and church family and was grateful for each opportunity to rejoice in the Lord with them. Bobby was an unwavering servant of the Lord, loving brother, and proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bobby's love of sports also held a special place in his heart. Before his health declined, he loved duckpin bowling with his friends and could be seen at most Mountaineer sporting events, cheering on the gold and black. He will be dearly missed by those whose lives he touched, but will forever rejoice with his Lord and Savior. He was retired from the textile industry. He enjoyed sports especially the Redskins and Tarheels.

Brothers: Doug Rathbone, Kings Mountain, NC and Paul Rathbone, Forrest City, NC

Sister: Belina Adams, Kings Mountain, NC

Grandchildren: Christian Rathbone, Charlotte, NC and Gavin Christopher Lee Rathbone, Colorado Springs Colorado.

Great Grandchildren: Isaiah Hall and Airabella Hager

Special Niece and great nieces, Lynn Ramey, Anna Moncrief (Eric) and Callie Moncrief

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, February 22, 2017 2:00 PM, First Wesleyan Church, Kings Mountain officiated by Rev. Don Williams

VISITATION: 1 PM to 2 PM prior to the service at the First Wesleyan Church, Kings Mountain, NC.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain North Carolina
