Bobby Ray Clayton

Blacksburg -- Bobby Ray Clayton, 80, of 222 Wendy Drive, passed away Thursday, August 11th, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greer, he was the husband of sixty-one years to Gladys Harris Clayton and the son of the late James Paul and Gladys Ruth Clayton. Mr. Clayton retired as a welder and was a member of the Grover Church of God.

Surviving Mr. Clayton are one son, Barry Lovia Clayton and wife, Linda, of Blacksburg; four daughters, Debbie Clayton Meyer and husband, David, of Detroit, MI, Barbara Diane Fite of Blacksburg, Sherri Clayton Sheppard and husband, Rex, of Blacksburg, and Lisa Clayton Moore of Blacksburg; one brother, Larry Clayton, of Greenville, SC; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Clayton was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Lattimore Clayton.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 15th, 2016, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Hawkins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gladys Clayton, 222 Wendy Drive, Blacksburg, SC 29702.

The family will be at the residence.
