Bonnie Mae Jones
 Bonnie Mae Jones, 90, of 206 Beaver Damn Drive, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014, with her son by her side, at Wendover Hospice. A native of Gwinnett County, Ga, she was born September 5, 1924, daughter of the late Jacob Brackney and Mary Jane Brown Ashley. She was a lifetime member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class. During her time at Beaver Dam, she was involved in many ministries, including working in the nursery for many years and WMU, just to name a few. She retired from Lily Mills after working there for 41 years. She was a devoted and loving Christian, wife, mother, grand and great grandmother. She was a hard working woman, a great cook and loved flowers. She loved working in her garden, freezing and canning food. If she knew anyone in need, she was the first to meet the need in any way she could.

 

 

PRECEDED: in addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John “JD” David Jones; one sister, Frankie A Patrick; infant brother, Jimmy Ashley; brother-in-laws, Charles Patrick, Henry Clary, Ed Arrowood, Clement Canipe, and Norel Ware.

 

SURVIVED: she is survived by one son, David Jones and wife Theresa of Shelby; three sisters, Ruby Clary, Dot Arrowood, Donnis Canipe Ware all of Shelby; two grandchildren, Wendy J. Stewart and husband Ronnie, Kimberly J. Proctor and husband Daniel; four great grandchildren,Ashley S. White and husband Lance, Dusty Stewart, Zach Proctor, Autumn Proctor; many nieces and nephews.

 

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 2PM Monday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

 

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-5:30 PM at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby and other times at Bonnie’s home

 

CLERGY: Rev. Jimmy Black, Dr. Paul Sorrells, Rev. Phil Hughes, Dr. Robert Canoy

 

BURIAL: internment will be at the church cemetery.
