Boys & Girls Club receives bikes, helmets
Mahogany Graham, Community Relations Specialist of United Healthcare proudly displays the additional gifts in addition to the 50 bikes which were given to the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland County.

On Monday, June 22, the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland County held a "Bike Rodeo" to teach the "rules of the road" and proper ways of riding and handling a bike. Through a generous grant from United Healthcare, 50 bikes were given to the club. In addition to the bikes, 50 helmets and other prizes were included. Through a partnership with SafeKids and the Shelby Police Department there was a demonstration of bike safety and helmet fitting for all. It was held in the parking lot of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer at 502 West Sumter Street in Shelby. Joshua Propst, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club was very appreciative with the generous grant from United Healthcare. He felt it was an "excellent compliment to our Boys & Girls Club's goal of child safety and promoting "Health Lifestyles" for all kids." The Marine Corps League Foothills Detachment and Burns High School FFA members helped assemble the bikes for the kids.
