Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report Aug 7, 2014
Kosa
The Kosa retirees have fished Lakes Wylie, Norman and Hickory since my last report. On Wylie, John Black and Roger McNeilly won with 12.1 and had big fish of 3.1. Ray Hembree and George Crosswhite had 7.2 and were second. Tommy Wess and James Haynes had 2.5 and were third. On Lake Norman, Ray Hembree and George Crosswhite won with 10.1 and had a 3.8 to get big fish as well. John Black fished solo and had 7.5 and third went to Tommy Wess and James Haynes with 3.2. On Hickory, John Black and Roger McNeilly once again brought ‘pinky’ out and won with 6.7. Ray Hembree and George Crosswhite had 3.9 to get second and David O’Shields and Doug Sparrow took third with 3.1, this was also big bass of the day.
Moss
Twenty boats came out with Buddy Black and Matt Arey getting the win with 9.71. J R Garland and Ronnie Beason had 8.61 and were second. Jeremy Bolton and Tyler Ward brought in  8.03 and got third and big bass with a 3.06. Billy Dover and  Greg Bragg had 6.75 and rounding out the top five was Brent Shytle and Arnold Leford with 4.73. Last week, there were 17 boats and again Buddy Black picked up the win, this time with Michael Black as his sidekick. They had 9.86. Kevin Clark had 6.52 and that was second and  big bass, while Jamie and Maverick Canipe took third with 4.63. J R Garland and Ronnie Beason had 3.48 and were fourth.
 Bass Caster Federation
The Bass Caster Federation club fished Lake Hickory two weeks in a row. The first week, Chris Hoopaugh won with 15.66 followed by Chuck Camp with 14.94, he also had big bass of 4.76. Third, with 10.18 was Kevin Holiday with Larry Fleming fourth with 7.40. Fifth went to Tyler Hoopaugh with 6.36. The following week Chuck Camp won with 19.34 followed by Mark Swink with 14.80. Greg Pope had 10.50 and was third with Butch Carter fourth with 8.36. Chris Hoopaugh had a 6.76 good enough for fifth and big bass. Next up with be Lake Norman, September 13.
Bass Casters
The Bass Caster club fished Lake Hickory with Tom Gavin getting the win with 13.3 and big bass of 4.13. Chris Hoopaugh was second with 7.13, followed by Brandon Scarborough with 7.3. Rickie McKinney had 1.15 and was fourth and fifth went to Bubba Sprouse with 1.0. The Bass Casters fished with heavy hearts as President Randy Scarborough is still recovering from and very bad motorcycle accident. Many thoughts and prayers still go out to him. He has come a long way and is doing much better, but still needs every ones thoughts and prayers.
