The Cleveland County Bass Club fished Lake Wateree recently and John Rankin showed he is not ready for the rocking chair just yet. Rankin had 4 fish totaling 12.56 and edged out Roger Beaver, who also had 4 bass weighing 12.24. Tom Mayhew, also showing signs of not slowing down, had 3 bass at 10.40. Tammy Melton had 2.72, while husband Jimmy Melton rounded out the top five with 1.56. Roger Beaver had the big bass of the day with a 5.36 largemouth. The next event will be held on Fishing Creek, on a date not yet determined.
Moss
Twenty-two boats made it out for the first weekly night event on Moss Lake. Jeremy Bolton and Tyler Ward picked up the win with 6.89. Chris Guest and son, C. J. had 6.60 to land in second. Chad Sinclair and Taylor Conner brought in 6.50 and settled in third. Walt Brysick and Chris Miller had 4.15, Bobby Childers and Chad Taylor brought in 2.57 for fourth and fifth respectively. Big bass was a 6.60 largemouth brought in by Chris and C.J. Guest. These weekly events will continue this and every week with blast-off time at 6pm and weigh-in 9:30. All fish must measure at least 14 inches..
