Bruce Dickey Gauger


Dr. Bruce Dickey Gauger, 73, of 112 Whitetail Dr., died Thurs., Dec. 1, 2011 at Kings Mountain Hospice House.  A native of Xenia., Ill, he was the son of the late Harry Edmund and Dortha  Fatheree Gauger.  Bruce and his wife Sandra, were married a year after high school at the Christian Church of Xenia, Ill., on Oct. 5, 1967.  For five years after marriage, Bruce worked as a radio dispatcher at the Illinois State Police station in Effingham.  His next job was at WGN as a radio and TV electrical engineer for ten years.  After that, he was the director of Ministries at Oak Forest Baptist Temple for 18 years.  While at Oak Forest, Dr. Gauger was the director of the Chicago Gospel Hour, the television ministry of the church.  Later, he worked for five years at Ancha Electronics in Rolling Meadows, before becoming President of Ancha for five more years. In 2004, Dr. Gauger  joined Ambassador Baptist College originally as the Business Manager, providing much needed experience in that department.  He has been involved with the sound system and electronic side of things in the chapel.  Last year, he became a Special Assistant to the President.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra Reeves Gauger, of the home; son, Jeff Gauger and wife Vicki of Cincinnati, Oh; two daughters, Debbie Kimball and husband Terry of Spring, TX, and Jenny Klass and husband Kevin of Greenville, SC; sister Betty Jo Toms and husband Ned of New Paris, Oh; six grandchildren, Ben, Natalie, and Brent Gauger, Angela Kimball, Abby and Maddy Klass.

SERVICES: 3pm, Monday, at Maranatha Baptist Church

VISITATION: Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church

CLERGY: Pastor Frank Camp and Dr. Alton Beal

BURIAL: A private family burial will be held in Oddfellows Cemetery in Xenia, Ill.
