Bryan Clay Kiser

Bryan Clay Kiser, age 55, a loving husband, proud father, good brother, special friend, and respected educator went to his heavenly home on August 26, 2015 while at the Testa Hospice Family House in Kings Mountain.

Bryan's life was defined by his strength of faith, his kindness, his sense of humor, his determination, his love of family, his concern of others, his intelligence and his wisdom. Bryan would want others to reflect on their shared memories and to remember him with a smile.

Bryan was born in Shelby on October 29, 1959; he was the son of the late Wilbur Clay and Mabel Deck Kiser. Bryan developed the good character traits, values and admirable qualities for which he was respected throughout his life. After graduating from Shelby High School, Bryan earned an Associate of Arts degree from Cleveland Community College, then transferred to Gardner-Webb University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree.

In addition to being an undefeated wrestler in school and later a wrestling coach, Bryan was also a recognized wood sculptor who created large wooden statues, wooden wall designs and decorative walking canes. While teaching at Kings Mountain Middle School for 27 years, Bryan was often complimented for being a genuinely kind and caring teacher who made a positive difference in the lives of his students. God said, "We have passed from death to life because we love one another" (1 John 3:14). Bryan cherished his time and relationships with his family and friends and especially appreciated the loving bond of friendships and support he had with his co-workers at Kings Mountain Middle School.

Bryan is survived by his wife Jane Campbell Kiser, two young daughters, Maria and Meleena of the home; a sister, Becky Kiser Cook and husband Gene of Shelby; nephew, Warren Clayton Cook of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Jennifer Campbell Drohan and husband Mike of Mt Pleasant SC ; nephews Alex Drohan and Will Drohan; and many cousins.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Dr. Rit Varriale officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the sanctuary.

The family wants to also thank his friends, the community, Hospice of Kings Mountain and especially his church family at Elizabeth Baptist Church for their faithful prayers, love and support during his battle with cancer.
