Mr. Buland Jenkins Short, 94, of 175 Golden Valley Rd., Casar, NC passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Services were held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Casar. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Short was preceded in death by his wife, Maudie Mae Newton Short; his parents, Ruffin Scott Short and Effie Grey Price Short; 4 brothers, Ophus, Hubert, Tilford and Boyd Short; and 1 sister, Selma Hastings Barrett Davis.
He is survived by 1 son, Ronnie Short and wife Carol of Casar; 4 daughters, Dorothy Anderson and husband Richard, and Patty Downs and husband Gary, all of Casar, Jackie Shell and husband Robert of Kings Mountain, NC and Louise Dockery and husband Bobby of Valdese; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Glenn Short of Casar and Hoover Short of Columbia, SC; and 1 sister, Naomi Parker of Casar.
