Camden Owen McWhirter, 33, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on January 13, 2019. He was born in Cleveland County, NC. Camden was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George Lee Amerson Sr. and Mildred Inez Goss Amerson, and an uncle, Gregory Alan Amerson. He was of the Methodist faith. Camden served in the US Army and was medically retired in 2007. He attended Cleveland Community College as well as Appalachian State University. Camden had a passion for history and all things military. He enjoyed reading and loved "bouldering" at Crowders Mountain State Park. Camden also enjoyed visiting the mountains and the beach. He was very giving and had a special place in his heart for those in need. Camden's loving spirit was evident throughout his life, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
