Carl Ray Green, 73, of Cliffside passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
He was born May 31, 1943 in Rutherford County, the husband of Donnis Dale Green and the son of the late Baxter Green and Mary Sue Millwood.
He was a member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness, where he was a former deacon, was retired from Ellenboro Upholstery and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved working on lawnmowers, loved animals and enjoyed "fiddling" with everything. He was a unique person who loved everyone and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years; three daughters, Carla Thompson of Cliffside, Angela Pittman of Cliffside and Dianne Branch (Scott) of Cliffside; a step-daughter, Melissa Ann Greene (Billy) of Henrietta; three step-sons, Ronnie Eugene Pittman (Tonya) of Spindale, Richard Pittman, Jr. (Jody) of Cliffside and Michael Andrew Pittman of Red Springs; three brothers, Charles (MC) Greene of Ellenboro, Samuel Green of Cliffside and David Green of Forest City; five sisters, Addie Medford of Shelby, Betty Upton of Ellenboro, Linda Toney of Ellenboro, Brenda Toney of Ellenboro and Patricia (Sissy) Splawn of Caroleen; eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bobby Green and Terry Wilkie
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday, December 2nd at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside by Rev. Dwayne Scruggs. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 1st from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
