Open Mic Night is a great place to listen to live music. Every Thursday night at Applebee’s in Shelby, we have a place for you! It’s easy, just come by around 9pm.
The air is filled with sweet tunes and rhythms as musicians from all walks of life creep in to the restaurant.
If you are a music fan on any level, you will enjoy hearing the variety of talent that come through the evening. Ever since November of 2010, we have welcomed musicians of all ages to a warm atmosphere and tasty food. Many people stop by just to listen to live music and enjoy the company of friendly people, sometimes even as far as Kentucky!
What if I’m a musician?
If you are a singer, you can sing accapella (without music) or ask one of the musicians to play along with you. Guitarists can bring their favorite guitar to plug into the PA. Bass players may want to bring a small amp. There is always a way for you to participate; I always bring a drum, tambourine, or shaker. If your at table and a little timid about your talents, then borrow a couple spoons from the kitchen and jam with us from your seat.
This is your first amendment right in action. Freedom of speech through music!
As I always say, “If you open mic, they will come.”
Calling all students songwriters, musicians and singers! We are looking for submissions to be showcased in our Cleveland County Artists feature:
