Carrie Melton, age 82, of Forest City, died Friday, April 15, 2016 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Born March 3, 1934 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter to the late Claude Lee Melton and Macie Margaret Humphries Melton. She worked for Cone Mills-Cliffside Plant for many years and was a member of Chase Baptist Church. Carrie enjoyed caring for her family, going to the beach and sitting on her porch.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Billy and Frank Melton.
Survivors include her sister, Shirley Melton Hutchins; one nephew, Donnie Melton and niece, Donna Dobbins all of Forest City.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. The body will lie in state from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
