Cathy Roberts Harris, age 70, died Monday, January 2, 2017 at her home. Born in Cleveland County on September 7, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Ralph Evans and Catherine Wilson Roberts. Cathy was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church where she was a member of the Rebekah Sunday School class and the Keenagers. Cathy received her Bachelors of Science Degree from Meredith College. She worked for Carolinas Healthcare-Cleveland for over 30 years as a Microbiologist. In her spare time, Cathy enjoyed traveling and working outside, and was a collector of many things. In addition to her parents, Cathy is preceded in death by her husband, James Harris and a sister, Barbara Lail.

Cathy is survived by three daughters, Crystal Hendrick and husband Terry, Melanie Few, and Jaime To all of Shelby; five grandchildren, Clinton Hendrick, Bobbie Few, Cassidy Hendrick, Callie Hendrick, and Sydney Few; two great grandchildren, Isaac Hopper Jr. and Grey Moore; and her canine companion, "Amiga".

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Dr. Rit Varriale officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
