Charles "Buzz" G. Barrett, Jr.

Charles "Buzz" G. Barrett, Jr. resident of Cleveland Pines passed away peacefully at Hospice Cleveland County Wendover, Thursday, April 5, 2018 surrounded by family. Charles was the son of the late Charlie G. Barrett and Floice Davis Barrett. Charles is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Peggy Marie Burch Barrett; one brother, William Hagan Barrett; three sisters, Frances Verie Grigg, Mary Sue Putnam, and Dorothy Mae Hamilton.

Charles was a member of Ross Grove Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and served as deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. He was retired from Kerns trucking and also worked at Superior Feed & Egg and Bost Bakery in the past.

To carry on Charles' memory are two daughters, Jane Jung and Husband Tim of Kannapolis, Lynn Wetherbee and husband Gary of Milton FL, two sons, Charles Timothy Barrett and wife Ann and Paul Barrett and wife Nita both of Shelby; eight grandchildren; Betsy Baisden, Tony Wetherbee, Ben Wetherbee, Jarred Jung, Jada Pace, Tia Muller, Timothy Barrett and Evan Barrett; along with 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Ross Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus McGill and Rev. Chris Devine officiating. The family will receive friends at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Other times, at the home of Ann and Tim Barrett, 1448 Briar Creek Drive, Shelby, NC 28152.
