SHELBY - Charles Camillus Slone, 76, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at his residence. He was born to the late Camillus and Amy Slone in Kentucky on April 2, 1941. He is also predeceased by daughter, Ann Blanton of Shelby, twin grandchildren, Zyland and Nevaeh Bridges; NC; sister, Brenda Pierce of Moss, TN.
Charles leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Martha H. Slone of the home; children, Chris Slone and Nancy Nomura of 29 Palms, CA, Michael Slone of Shelby, NC, Rockey Slone of Columbus, NC, Cindy Slone of Cherryville, NC, Amy Slone of Shelby, NC, Charlie Slone, Jr. of Shelby, NC and Angela Bridges of Dallas, NC; brothers and sisters, Clarence Slone of Washington, Jerry Slone of Castalian Springs, TN, Jackie Plumlee of Moss and Harriett Bullard of Red Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Nicholas Slone, William Kinsler, Ricky, Callie and Brin' Leigh Jackson, Ralieah and Zaley Slone, Selina Contreras, Veronica Contreras, Johnny, Daniel, and Randy Palmer, Tia Slone, Brittany and Adam Greathouse, Natalie Bridges, Misty and Crystal Blanton; great-grandchildren, King, Jamison and Kevin, Lanese.
He was a truck driver for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening. He also loved being around his family. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be truly missed.
A private memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 384 Washburn Switch Road, Shelby, NC 28150. Receiving of friends and family will be held one hour prior to service.
