Charles "Charlie" Osborne Lee

Charles "Charlie" Osborne Lee, age 79, died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on April 29, 1938, he was the son of the late Wesley Osborne and Martha Susan Brooks Lee. Charlie was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church for over 50 years and was well known for making Pecan Pies for "Joy Club" meals. He served four years in the U. S. Marine Corps as a jet engine mechanic and carried that skill to Doran Mills from which he retired. . Charlie was a charter member for the Lattimore Fire Department and worked with the Lattimore Boy Scout Troop #113 as an assistant Scoutmaster. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to The Depot in Lattimore and having breakfast with his "Breakfast Group". In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Doty Lee and a brother-in-law, Harold Moore.

Charlie is survived by his son, Bob Lee of Shelby; a daughter, Melissa Brady and husband Steve of Seattle WA; three sisters, Marlene Rankin and husband Chuck of Shelby, Joan Moore of Mt. Holly, and Eunice Bretthauer and husband Don of VA; a brother, Terry Lee and wife Julia of Gaffney SC; two granddaughters, Haley Kossey and Caitlyn Brady; a great granddaughter, Lilah Sue Kossey; special friends, Larry and Ellen Gragg and family of Shelby; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Friday, November 10, 2017 at Double Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Fryar officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with Military Honors. The family will receive friends before the service in the Family Life Center from 9:30 am until 11:00 am.
