Charles David Moore
Charles David Moore, age 74, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at North Carolina Veterans Home Salisbury. He was born November 20, 1942 in Murphy, North Carolina to the late Charles and Myrt Waldroup Moore. David was a member Crouse United Methodist Church. He enjoyed RVing, talking, and driving a tractor trailor, where was known as CB Handle, Flattop. He was a 32 year member of the American Legion Post #100 and Paralyzed Veterans of America and served in the United States Army 1964-1966.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Phyllis McIntyre Moore; daughter, Pam Carpenter and husband, Charles of Cherryville; two grandchildren, Cannon Carpenter of New Bern and Erich Carpenter of Morganton; and three sisters; Annette Mayo and husband, Martin of Vanceboro, Velma Sue Bryson and husband, James of Andrews, and Nikkie Moore of Sylva.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Crouse United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at Carpenter Porter Funeral and Cremation Services from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and at other times at the home. Military Honors by American Legion Post #100.
