Cherryville - Mr. Charles Dellinger Sherrill, 77 of 208 W. Main Street,
passed away on April 16, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Charles was born on May 9, 1937 in Gaston County a son of the late J.
Garland Sherrill and Ruth Dellinger Sherrill. He was retired from Technical
Associates as a mechanical designer. Charles was a 1955 graduate of
Cherryville High School, he attended NC State University, Lenior Rhyne
College and CPCC in Charlotte. He had a degree in Education and in
Mechanical Design. Charles was the 4th Eagle Scout of Cherryville Boy Scout
Troop 323.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Cherryville and the
Cherryville American Legion Post 100. Charles also served in the US Air
Force during Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Patricia Cooper Sherrill of the
home; a son and daughter-in-law, Vince Sherrill and Melanie of Lincolnton
and five grandchildren, Jenna, Ethan, Kevin, Colin and Lilah Sherrill.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 1:45 to 2:45PM at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service. At other times the
family will be the home of Vince and Melanie Sherrill, 1129 Lyndsey Brooke
Court, Lincolnton.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, April 19, 2015 at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service Chapel with Dr. Eric
Childers officiating.

Military Honors will be provided by the Cherryville American Legion Post 100
Honor Guard.

Burial will be Private.

Memorials may be made to the Cherryville Boy Scout Troop 323, c/o Darrell
Carpenter, 804 Washburn Street, Cherryville, NC 28021.
