Charles Edward "Coon Dog" Wilkie

Charles Edward "Coon Dog" Wilkie, 53, of Polkville Road, Shelby, passed away
Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his home.

Born in Burke County, on October 3, 1965, he was a son of James Theadore
Wilkie and Gloria Jean Mincey Wilkie. Charlie worked for Royster Turkey
Farm and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and the Camp Call Masonic
Lodge #534. He loved serving his community by being a volunteer with
Polkville Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the fire department for
thirty-four years and was awarded the Fireman of the Year Award in 1999 and
2011.

In addition to his parents he survived by his wife of thirty-one years,
Barbara Terry Wilkie; two daughters, Jennifer Randall and husband Robbie of
Cherryville and Stephanie Allen and husband Tyler of Boiling Springs;
brother Jimmy Wilkie of Icard; three grandchildren, Cooper Allen, Emma Allen
and Levi Grant; special little buddy, Mason Yelton; grandmother, Louise
Bumgardner; and nephew James R. "Burr Head" Wilkie.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at
Polkville Volunteer Fire Department.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM at Polkville Volunteer Fire
Department with the Revs. Paul Scott and David Ledford officiating.

The burial will follow in the Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery.
