Charles Farrell Spencer
Charles Farrell Spencer, 86, of Hartwell, GA, and formerly of Blacksburg, passed away February 7, 2018, at Brookdale Assisted Living. Born in Cherokee County, SC, he was married to late Betty Peek Spencer who passed away September 24, 2017, and son of the late Walter Oree and Gladys Campfield Spencer. He worked for the NC Public Service Commission. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Shelby, NC, and when he moved to Hartwell, he attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. He loved to shag, play golf and fly his plane.
He is survived by three daughters - Cynthia Myers and Sheila Walker both of Hartwell, GA, and Karen Spencer of Lawrenceville, GA; one son - Mike Spencer of Hartwell, GA; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson.
A Graveside Celebration Of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Frederick Memorial Gardens, Gaffney. The Family will briefly receive friends from 1-1:30 PM at White Columns before the service Saturday.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
The Gore Family of White Columns is serving the Spencer Family.
